Oh mi young/Unit 2 presentation/Wed 1pm-3pm

https://youtu.be/loa23Qd1X7E

It was not an easy assignment for me because it's totally new experience taking a video of my speech. It's different from giving a speech to audience right away.
And it was helpful to see my face talking in English.
I could find my habits when I'm talking, and I tried to correct it.
One of the habit that I found was that I use the word 'and I...' a lot.

I think you did great job on your speech! You sound very calm and your voice is loud enough. I especially liked your speed. It was very steady. I think you are good at giving formal presentations. However, in my opinion, it would've been better if you used more gestures. Because your topic was about vacation, which was not that serious and heavy topic, I think using more gestures fit your topic more than just letting your hands rest in one place too long. Also, I think using gestures will help you look more natural when you are giving presentations. Well done!:D

  2. Actually, I've already post my video but Its name was wrongly written. So I repost my video. And I've gotten one comment already in the former post, so I copy and paste it here.

    1. What strong points does the speaker have?
Her calm and loud voice and good steady speed were her strong points. She was also very confident.

    2. How well did the audience get to know the speech subject?
Thanks to her speed and loud enough voice, I could understand her topic, 'very special location for vacation', very well. Her example pictures were also helpful to understand.

    3. Did the speech reflect adequate preparation?
I could see her hard working for this presentation. She memorized all points and didn't even use any notes. Also, she prepared many visual materials for the presentation and used them at the right moment.

    4. Did the speaker talk clearly and audibly?
Her speech was very clear and audible. Her speed was also really steady.

    5. Did the speech have a definite opening, body, and conclusion?
I think she has a definite opening, body, and conclusion. However, her signposting for the first body, "Okay, let's start' sounded weird because she already had started her presentation. I recommend her to use different signpostings.

    6. Please comment on the speaker’s use of notes/eye contact.
She didn't use any notes and she looked at the camera too much.

    7. What could the speaker have done differently that would have improved the speech?
If she used some notes, I think she would have improved her speech and made less mistakes. Also, it would've been better if she had more eye-contacts with the audiences. Since her topic was not that serious and heavy, I would recommend her to use more gestures that would make her look more natural.

    8. What did you like about the presentation?
I really liked her steady speed and clear voice. I also think she used pauses efficiently and used stresses properly. She was very confident and I think she is good at giving formal presentations.

  5. Hello, this is Seo Bin Lee from your class. I first want to say that your presentation was really excellent. You started with questions which led audiences' attention pretty well. Delivery speed was good, so audiences feel comfortable to hear you talking. Your voice is clear for audiences. Your visual materials were so good and really helpful to imagine the location but I think if there were more photos about Nami Island at forepart of your presentation, it will be better. And I was impressive that you remembered all of your presentation without a script. Lastly, I could see that you prepared a lot for this 4 minute presentation. Thank for your amazing presentation!
