Chaeeun Lee/Unit 1/Wed56

It was great to present in front of my classmates. However, it was my first time to present in English for about 5 minutes.

Also, I wanted to use visual aids such as the video and ppt. So I had to prepare more than others.

I prepared my speech comparing myself with Yuna Kim. It was meaningful to recall how I lived 2 years ago.

During the speech, I had difficulties memorizing the numbers and also the right moment to click.

I think it would have been better if I had spoken louder. I think I would perform better if I memorize all my words.

I think I presented in appropriate pronunciation and speed.

I liked the way you started the presentation by showing short video clip.
    It drew my attention effectively.
I liked the tone and the volume of your voice as well as the speed of speaking.
Well organized ppt and linking the topic with your own story were good tactic for conveying what you wanted to say.
However, you looked little bit rigid and tensed, which gave me the impression "I should not make any mistake!"
Other than this, everything was excellent!

Title: Yuna Kim, the person I admire the most!

    1. What strong points does the speaker have?
I think I used visual aids well enough. The part that I used the video clip is connected to the story at the end, so it improved the coherence of my speech. Also I used my PPT only to ‘help’ my speech as I learned in class. It didn’t convey too much or too less information. I think they did their job right.
    2. How well did the audience get to know the speech subject?
My speech consists of two parts-the story of Yuna Kim and the story of myself. Although the audience was already familiar with Yuna Kim’s story, I think the story of myself would have been new to them. So I think they got to know about Yuna and also myself well.
    3. Did the speech reflect adequate preparation?
I really put a lot of effort preparing this speech. I edited the video myself and of course the PPT. I also tried to find more interesting and accurate information about her. I also tried to memorize the script but I was too nervous to perform as well as I prepared.
    4. Did the speaker talk clearly and audibly?
I think my voice was loud enough. I am confident with my tone and speed of my speech!
    5. Did the speech have a definite opening, body, and conclusion?
I tried to use the parts I have learned in class. But I tried not to use exactly the same sentences. I had an opening sentence, body and conclusion.
    6. Please comment on the speaker’s use of notes/eye contact.
I used the notes well I think and tried to make eye contact with the audience as much as I could.
    7. What could the speaker have done differently that would have improved the speech?
I think I would have been better if I used more gestures. I used some but it is hard to notice because I was holding the pointer and the note cards.
    8. What did you like about the presentation?
I liked that I could tell my story to people and also tell them why I admire Yuna Kim. Though so much people say they admire Yuna Kim, as I said in the speech, she was the only person who I found hope when I was struggling with my own problems. It was meaningful to prepare this speech. To talk about my techniques I liked my intonation, visual aids, speed of the speech and the size of my voice.
